Chiropractic treatment or medical treatment? That's a question that has been asked for a long time. At its core, it is simply this...Chiropractic treatment does not use drugs or medication as part of its treatment. Medical doctors treat a lot more conditions that chiropractor do. Just look at the number of specialists in the medical field, it seems like there is a specialist for each part of the body!

Chiropractic treatment has its own specialty and is focused on the treatment of the spine. Specifically, how the spine itself affects the function of our whole body. Time for an anatomy review (Very briefly, I promise)! As you know, our brain controls all our body's functions. The majority of the brain's instructions travel down the spine before they exit and go to our cells, tissues and organs. So, in a simplistic sense, if the spine is working properly, your body has the best chance to function the way it was designed.

Most people associate Chiropractic treatment with treatment of headaches, neck and back pain, sciatic pain, and the like. And while these are the main conditions Chiropractors treat, there are many other injuries we treat as well.

For example, I am a Certfied Chiropractic Sports Physician. I have worked with many types of athletes, including professional golfers, tennis players, hockey players, and baseball players. I can assure you, these athletes didn't only come in with back and neck pains! At the end of the day, I believe Chiropractors are popular because there is a growing amount of people who simply don't want a pill for every illness or injury. For me, I think it is wonderful that patients have a choice in how they want to treat their conditions. If you have any questions on how chiropractic care can help you, call or email me! I would be happy to speak with you.
